Cottage - Chittlehamholt, Devon

Now here's where me and hubby part ways. Whereas I think there are few things lovelier than a thatched country cottage, he (having previously owned one) still has nightmares about living under the thatch.
This sweet detached cottage and former forge in one of Devon's prettiest villages comes not only with a fulsome thatch (rethatched 2003), but with Grade II Listed status and a shedload of original features and quirky leftovers from its honourable past. It also needs complete renovation and modernisation (and someone who doesn't fear spiders).
It has three bedrooms, a big chunk of garden area and backs onto open fields. It's in Chittlehamholt, in the Taw Valley.
