Two chapels for sale, Derbyshire area
The first, pictured above, is in Castle Donnington and is a yummy former Baptist chapel with full planning and listed building consent to turn it into a home, keeping the fabulous raised pulpit. More here.
The current owners had originally wanted to turn it into a restaurant, when that was objected to they decided to apply to turn it into a house, or more accurately two houses because the plans allow for the chapel to become one four-bedroom house and the Sunday School a second. I don't know what's happening with the Sunday School and you'll want to clarify that with the agents.
The chapel is up for auction on March 29th with a guide price of £75k
The second chapel is is also up for auction on the 29th, through the same agents, Graham Penny, with aguide price of £100k.
The former Methodist Chapel and school room, pictured below, is in the village of Stanley, around six miles from Derby.
It's a lovely building, isn't listed and doesn't come with pre-set planning permission and drawings you might not want.
More details here.
