Coastal house, Porthleven, Cornwall

The sun's shining as I type this - makes me want to be beside the seaside. So, here's a house with a view of the sea.
It's a semi, in Porthleven, Cornwall. Ok, ok, I know I don't usually pick semis. Particularly ones with price tags this high (offers over £300k..ouch!).
But Porthleven is lovely, and the views from this house are simply stunning.

Apparently it's 47 years since this house was last on the market. Inside is cute, tatty, jumbled and dated but I love all of that!
Rooms are a bit higgledy-piggledy - four(ish) bedrooms, plus bathroom, shower room, study and hall upstairs; two reception, kitchen, utility, conservatory and hall downstairs.

Would definitely benefit from a bit of remodeling as well as modernising - though you'd want to keep as many of those original windows, floors and fireplaces as possible.
Outside is a good-size garden plus a block-built outhouse with electricity, water and a cast-iron stove.

House and land, Nigg, Highlands

This is an odd place. Patina of care home about it (actually former oil company offices and lodgings) but a stately-looking building.
Dunskaith House is on the site of Dunskeath Castle, in Nigg. The main house burnt down in 1960 and all that's left is the former servants quarters - the building above.
Tain Museum's website carries this picture of the house in the 1930s, along with some wonderful memories about the House contributed by people who knew and loved it - here.

However, it's all a bit sad-looking and uncared for now:

Global Energy Group bought the neighbouring refinery in 2011 and is continuing to grow and develop the site around the house. So, private beach and seaviews aside, this isn't really a rural retreat...

Having said that, you get a heck of a lot of house and land.
Four rooms downstairs (two currently used as bedrooms) plus kitchen, and five rooms plus a bathroom upstairs.

PLUS 10 acres of land, two derelict cottages and a ruined chapel, stables, the private beach and a walled garden area. All for £230k.
And (mostly) stunning views...
